You can download the audio driver here:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=13706&ProdId=2...

IDT hasn’t release a Win7 64 bit driver, but you can use the Windows Vista 64 driver. After the reboot, you need to change the default input to SPDIF:

-right click on the volume icon on the bottom right taskbar
-select Playback Devices
-right click on the SPDIF and select "Set as Default Device"
-double click on the SPDIF
-select the Supported Format tab
-check Dolby Digital and DTS
-click on OK

These drivers will work for Win7 installs on Niveus RainierHD or Rainier (non-HD)

If you have an older non-HD Rainier, you will need the audio driver as well:

So, i took the plunge and began the win 7 install last night and am happy to say it went pretty smooth.  I still have a few driver issues that i will need some help with.  First, just an FYI but the first link in this post is now dead (video Driver).  install did detect my display adapter as GeForve 8500GT but i notice that the video control panel is missing and i can't get component video out.

screen shot attached

I also have a couple driver missing which are as follows:
1. Multimedia Controller
2. PCI Simple Communications Controller
3. Unknown device. is there any way to find out what the unknown device is.

I can prbabbly figure some of this out but don't have any time today and was hoping someone had these issues and might be able to help out.

Thanks

I have installed the Vista64 IDT driver in my Win7-64 upgraded Rainier HD and WMC is now extremely unstable (as others have noted).

Has anyone had success with the IDT vista driver?  Should I just buy a Asus D1 sound card for the box and use that instead?

Thanks.

So Casey, has IDT released the 64 bit audio drivers yet?

IDT hasn't release a Win7 version of the audio driver for the older Rainier board. I'm not sure if they ever will because the board is old.
