NIVEUS MEDIA AND AUTONOMIC CONTROLS PROVIDE INDUSTRY-WIDE MEDIA CENTER CONTROL COMPATIBILITY
Support for major control systems enables the integration of Niveus Media Servers into more advanced whole-home installations.
Denver, CO – CEDIA Expo 2007 – September 5-9 – Booth #294 – Niveus Media, Inc., award-winning manufacturer of hardware and software digital entertainment solutions, and Autonomic Controls™ (Booth #3806), exclusive provider of A/V integration software for Windows Vista, have joined forces to provide custom installers with two-way, IP or serial based control of Niveus Media Centers.
Autonomic Controls’ Media Control Server (MCS) acts as a bi-directional communications gateway between Windows Media Center or Windows Media Player and touch panel remote control devices capable of IP or serial communication such as those made by Crestron, AMX, and RTI. Pre-built modules and touch panel interfaces are available for AMX, Crestron, and HAI control systems. A specially designed version of the control protocol was engineered exclusively for Niveus and will be pre-loaded on all Niveus’ Media Centers including the passively cooled Summit Series Rainier and Denali Editions and the rack-mountable Pro Series n4, n7, and n9. Niveus Media Centers can also be controlled from UMPCs and other computers on the network by using Autonomic Controls’ Mirage Flash™ interface.
Niveus dealers will be automatically enrolled in Autonomic Controls’ dealer pricing and support program. Installers will also be able to offer two week trials of the control software to their clients who can test the application after the system has been installed; helping to boost post-installation upgrades.
