Most likely, if your considering a purchase of the Niveus Media Center, you likewise already have, or are considering the purchase of a digital television. Use this chart to understand how computer resolutions relate to the resolutions of your high definition display.

HDTV Resolution Chart

480i (NTSC TV) 640 x480 @30Hz
480p (Progressive DVD) 640, 720, or 856 x 480 @60Hz
720p (HDTV) 1280 x 720 or 768 @60Hz
1080i (HDTV) 1920 x 1080 @30Hz
1080p (WMVHD, HD-DVD, BlueRay) 1920 x 1080 @60Hz

DVD: Digital Video Disk
HDTV: High Definition Television
Hz:A unit of frequency. Expressed in cycles per second.
